DJ Tomato Hatano

DJ Tomato Hatano 🍅

An omnivorous DJ who skips effortlessly across Showa-era pop, the ’80s, disco, rock and J-pop.

From “I know this!” and “So nostalgic!” to “Why are you playing this now?!”, the main rule behind the selections is whether Tomato is having fun. A devoted QUEEN and Freddie Mercury fan, Tomato also serves as float DJ for Tokyo Trans March.

With a loud MC voice and joyful tracks, Tomato will make this a parade to remember!

MESSAGE

Thank you for holding the march again this year. There is extraordinary strength in continuing. Even at LGBTQ events, it can be difficult to find a safe place for transgender people. I hope this march can also be a place of belonging for everyone who organizes it.

Drawing on real experiences as a transgender woman, Satsukipon writes and composes songs that carry hope for everyone to live as themselves, delivering courage and connection through an approachable pop world.

MESSAGE

This will be our second appearance at Tokyo Trans March, and we are very excited to create a joyful time together with everyone! We’ll also perform the “Neconeco Dance,” which everyone can join. First-timers are very welcome—let’s dance, laugh and celebrate together under the Shinjuku sky!

MESSAGE

This will be my third Tokyo Trans March: first as a participant, second as a security staff member, and now as a DJ. Clubs—the spaces where DJs work—should be places where everyone can feel safe and be themselves, and such spaces can exist only in a society that respects freedom and human rights. I join the march hoping for a world without discrimination, where the dignity of transgender people and every minority is protected.

mio
02

Makeup Artist / DJ

mio

mio’s first DJ set began with jazz. Since then, the selection has expanded across funk, electro swing, reggaeton, EDM, K-pop and many other genres.

mio has also DJed at CHANGE, the official after-party of Sapporo Rainbow Pride.

MESSAGE

Congratulations on Tokyo Trans March! ‘Beautiful World’—toward a world where everyone can walk as themselves. It is a wonderful phrase, though it can sound difficult to realize. Many people worry about how others see them, struggle with being different, or find it hard to face their true selves. But nobody is perfect. Without hiding who we are, we can live honestly and authentically within what each of us can do, building small steps toward a life we can walk with a smile. Let’s move forward at our own pace and in our own way, expressing the selves we want to show rather than comparing ourselves with others. Wishing everyone a bright and joyful future—and congratulations on today!
